Fog Bank in January

A night time shoot into some fog.  It wasn't too cold out, and as most night this week have been warm and foggy.  Weird weather for the north east USA in winter, but a good chance to play with the SLR and get some neat o natural effects.  I thought it would be a good start for the star photos i want to try in HD.

When you start out shooting on timed exposures at night, time will fly.  It took me an hour and some and in the end I was only happy with two photos. There is the third which could have been better, but I  was starting to see the limits of my location and didn't feel like fussing with it any more.

It stands to reason that given enough time I may have gotten something a bit more "solid".  It a way the better media for this would have been the camcorder.  There were great lighting shots as cars past the lens on the road over the edge of the hill.  I hate mixing mediums on the fly though.  Fog is a funny thing.  it's takes just the right light to capture it.  Unlike the human eye, cameras need to be manually set to get the right feel.
